Big Star Records
Big Star Records is a retail music chain that was based in Adelaide, South Australia. It currently has stores in Marion, South Australia and the original on Magill Rd, Norwood, South Australia.〔(Big Star Records: In the Adelaide City region of South Australia )〕
From the 1980s until March 2010, Big Star Records also operated a retail store on Rundle Street, which closed when sales dropped due to competition from online music purchases.〔(Big Star Records shuts up shop )〕

Big Star was founded in the 1980s by Vic Flierl and Andy in Norwood, South Australia. The first store, named after American power pop band Big Star formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971 by Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Jody Stephens and Andy Hummel,〔(【引用サイトリンク】 url = http://www.postcards.sa.com.au/features/big_star_records.html )〕 began as a second hand shop on Magill Road in Norwood, South Australia. At the time, Andy and Vic were interested in sixties music and over the years picked up a few things for themselves and the store.〔
At its height, Big Star had six outlets in Adelaide, including the central store in Rundle Street in the East End.
